Welcome to the world, Ryan!
I'm an aunt now! Yay! Mom and baby are doing great after a delivery by c-section. Daddy is over the moon, and they are all exhausted. I can't wait to see the little guy, but now I have to pack up a bunch of baby clothes to ship down to them. The hand-me-down parade has begun!

Auntie Gina
I just want to send lots of love, good luck, and a speedy and safe delivery to my sister, Jen, who is going into the hospital tonight to have her baby. May you have an excellent anesthesiologist, my dear, and may you quickly dilate to the point where you can get that blessed epidural!
All kidding aside, I'm gonna be a nervous wreck for her and her husband all weekend. She's so ready to have this baby delivered, it isn't funny. Plus I'm anxious to know if I'm having a niece or nephew!

Enough already!
This afternoon, we were wearing shorts and playing in the backyard. Now it's freaking freezing outside and we've got the heat on. No wonder this cold will not go away. Make it stop!!!

A night out.
Friday night Grandma & Grandpa babysat for us so we could go out and have a real dinner with real grownups. No highchairs involved! We had Ethiopian food (save the jokes, we're talking serious yummy goodness here), talked about things besides diapers and teething, and I even got to have an adult beverage afterwards. Mmmmmm, single malt scotch.
It was the first time we've really gone out without our son in months and months. I've been putting this off for too long, I know, but I just wasn't ready to leave him with a sitter. Even his grandparents. Now I'm totally ready, believe me. Grandma and Grandpa can babysit any old time.
Today, I did absolutely nothing. I slept late, played and read books (inside, sadly, since it's cold and yucky again), had lunch, and then we all took a long nap, had dinner, played some more, then the little guy had bath and bedtime. No Protestant work ethic for me, no sir. I am a great believer in the art of doing nothing.
Now Sunday, of course, will be a different story, as I have approximately 349 loads of laundry to do, the week's meals to plan, and we have to go grocery shopping. But today was wonderfully lazy.
